The ABDR team at Monash University is comprised of academics, clinical specialists in plastic and reconstructive, cosmetic and breast surgery, researchers, data managers and support staff.

Dr Ingrid Hopper
Head, Drug and Devices Registries
Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences
Department of Epidemiology & Preventative Medicine

Dr Ingrid Hopper graduated in Medicine at Monash University in 1999, and received Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2010, specialising in clinical pharmacology. She has published widely on cardiovascular therapeutics and medication safety and is principal investigator on clinical trials in heart failure, hypertension and cardiovascular disease prevention and maintains clinical commitments to the Alfred Hospital through the Alfred Heart Failure Clinic, Alfred Adverse Drug Reactions Review Committee and as a general physician, as well as teaching and mentoring doctors in training.

In 2016 Ingrid took up the position of Head, Drug and Device Registries at the Monash University School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine working within the Monash Registry Sciences Unit. As part of this position she oversees the running of the Australian Breast Device Registry.

Prof John McNeil

Professor John McNeil leads Monash University’s School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, the second largest school at the university, which conducts epidemiologic and clinical trials in all areas of medicine. John has been involved in a variety of leadership roles including directorships of Austin Health, Alfred Health, the Australian Institute of Health & Welfare and the Metropolitan Ambulance Service. He is currently the Scientific Secretary of the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy and is a member of the Alfred Research Council, the Austin Life Sciences Board, The Royal Melbourne Hospital Research Grants Committee and the selection committee for the Victorian Premier’s Award for Health & Medical Research. John is passionate about the impact of clinical registries on public health and has executive oversight of all clinical quality registries in the School.
